I just read an interesting article about a music&design crossover project on a design-site called dexigner. Recently Parsons the New School for Design and The New School for Jazz and Contemporary Music took the stage to present visual music works. Among the works presented were an animated ecosystem that changed and grew in response to the musical score; a piece that brought to life children’s dreams as the music moved the animation from the conscious to unconscious state; and another that transformed the live musicians into on-screen avatars, who act out virtual stories through the music performed live onstage.
| Bad luck for those who wanted to register for Phil Minton’s class: we are fully booked and started to write a waiting list (just in case someone cancels). So for drums, guitar, violin and now voice you can still apply but without guarantee that there will be a free place.

Violin also joins the list of instruments with waiting list. So by now the guitar, drum & violin class are fully booked. You can still apply in case somebody has to cancel his/her application.
For voice, piano, sax, double bass, cello and composition there are just a few positions left.
Registration for JIMS 2008 enters a hot phase! We already have a waiting list for the guitar class with Wolfgang Muthspiel and for the drum class of Jim Black. Some other instruments are also quite close to being sold out.
